Cotton Pads
Pro carton packaging
BRIEF
What can sustainable pro
carton packaging look like?
SOLUTION
This packaging is designed to be both visually appealing and portable. To meet these needs, I made it easy to separate the individual components, allowing the user to take just one or two containers with them on their travels. The design is intended to be suitable for display in a bathroom setting. My dogma was to keep from using any glue, that is why you can fold the hole piece with no extra additives needed. The triple honeycomb form provides stability for stacking multiple units.
APROACH
To address a relevant issue, I focused on packaging for cotton pads. Many cotton pads are currently pacaged in long cylinder plastic bags, which I find to be impractical, unsustainable, and failing to adequately emphasize the high-quality cotton material contained within. Tools used are; Solid Works, Illustrator and laser Cutter.
METHOD
The primary approach for this project was to work by hand, sketching, folding cardboard, testing, and repeating as necessary. I later utilized Solid Works and Illustrator to refine the measurements. The final product was produced through laser cutting. The focus of the brief was on form and function, so I chose to prioritize a plain, unadorned design rather than incorporating graphic elements.
