FLY WARDROBE
BRIEF
Designing a modern kindergarden wardrobe system
CLIENT

SOLUTION
Fly is an alternative design for the kindergarden wardrobe that aims to make the transition outside<>inside a playful flow experience for both kids, parents and educators.
Fly endeavors to design a welcoming and collaborative space that fosters a sense of independence and encourages children to explore and learn new skills. The open layout and multi-level bench of the room facilitate a flexible and adaptable workspace, allowing for a variety of working positions.
Wet clothing can be hung on the beams between the modules for drying. The wardrobe is intended to be constructed from either laminated plywood or MDF, as demonstrated in the 1:1 and 1:4 models, respectively. The low shelf is made of stainless steel.
APPROACH
The entrance of every kindergarten must provide practical solutions to fulfill the needs of pedagogues, parents, and children. To this end, the following essential questions must be addressed: How can we most effectively organize the necessary rooms and garments to allow adults to assist children in dressing and undressing in the optimal working positions? Even more importantly, how can we create a safe and conducive environment for children to learn and grow?
TOOLS
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
Fusion 360
Wood- and steel workshops
An integral part of this project involved conducting observations of existing kindergarten lobbies and engaging in dialogue with pedagogues and parents to identify the challenges present on various levels. This information helped me to understand which aspects of the wardrobe needed to be improved.
